Bhairav Pati

Bhairav pati is located at Ikutole. This pati was also built during the period of Malla dynasty. This pati has religious importance. The statue of Kanti Bhairav is taken to Kanti Bhairavsthan at Danchi during Kanti Bhairav Jatra in Baisakh (April). On the next day, the statue is returned to Changu where it is placed in Bhairav pati for the ceremony of Swayamvar (self-selection of spouse) between Bhairav and Chinnamasta Bhagawati. After the ceremony, the local people worship these deities and offer them variety of flowers, fruits, eggs, cooked food and even sacrifice animals. The statue of Bhairav and Chinnamasta is stationed on the chariot and taken to the nearby villages for Darshan (worshipping).
